Therapy and psychiatry for Freehold residents.
Therapy and psychiatry for Freehold Borough and Freehold Township residents — telehealth across NJ from our Eatontown office (about 22 minutes via Route 33). Bilingual care, NJ FamilyCare, and most insurance accepted.
Our office is 22 minutes from Freehold. Telehealth statewide if in-person doesn’t fit your schedule.
Care for Freehold residents — telehealth and in-person
Freehold Borough and Freehold Township sit roughly 22 minutes west of our Eatontown office via Route 33 or the Garden State Parkway. For Freehold residents, telehealth across all of New Jersey is often the most practical option for weekly therapy and medication-management visits — same NJ-licensed clinicians, same insurance acceptance, no commute. In-person visits are available at our Eatontown office for patients who prefer them; we particularly recommend in-person for the initial evaluation when feasible.
Bilingual care for Freehold's Spanish-speaking community
Freehold has one of the largest Spanish-speaking populations in inland Monmouth County. Several of our clinicians offer therapy and medication management in Spanish; tell our intake team your language preference on the first call and we'll match you with a clinician accordingly. We hold sessions entirely in Spanish where preferred — not bilingual sessions through a translator, but clinical work in the patient's primary language.
Conditions we see in Freehold patients
The conditions we see most often in Freehold patients: anxiety, depression, PTSD (often related to immigration, family separation, or work conditions), ADHD (often diagnosed late in adults), and postpartum depression. Teen-presenting conditions — teen anxiety, teen depression, teen ADHD — are common in our Freehold caseload, often in families connected to the Freehold Regional High School District.
Insurance accepted for Freehold residents
We accept Medicaid (NJ FamilyCare) and all 5 NJ FamilyCare MCOs — Horizon NJ Health, Aetna Better Health of NJ, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, Wellpoint, and FidelisCare — alongside Medicare, Tricare, and most major commercial plans. NJ FamilyCare adoption in Freehold Borough specifically is meaningful; we are credentialed with every MCO so most Medicaid-covered patients can be seen with their existing card.
What to expect on your first visit
The first visit is a 60- to 90-minute evaluation. For Freehold residents, the first visit can be telehealth or in-person; tell our intake team your preference. Bring your insurance card, a photo ID, and a list of any medications you're taking.
Most new patients are seen within 7 to 14 days. Sometimes sooner. If your schedule is tight, mention this on the first call — we prioritize fit when possible.
What’s specific to Freehold
What's specific to Freehold
Freehold is two distinct municipalities sharing a name: Freehold Borough (~12,000 residents, dense, urban-feeling, demographically diverse) and Freehold Township (~36,000 residents, suburban, surrounding the Borough on most sides). The two have meaningfully different patient populations, and our intake team identifies which one your address is in to suggest the right-fit clinician.
Freehold Borough has one of the larger Latino populations in inland Monmouth County. Practical concerns we see frequently: family-system stress around immigration status (regardless of individual status — the family stress can be present for documented and undocumented family members alike), intergenerational trauma, and care coordination when household members have different insurance statuses. Bilingual care, cultural-fit clinician matching, and patient confidentiality are central to how we work with this population. Patient confidentiality is the same as for any patient — what's discussed in session stays in session, with the clinical exceptions for safety we walk through at the first visit.
Freehold Township has a more typical suburban Monmouth County demographic mix; the conditions we see and the insurance we bill are similar to other Monmouth County townships. CentraState Medical Center is the largest healthcare presence locally; for Freehold residents on CentraState commercial plans, our intake team can verify benefits in one call.
The distance between Freehold and our Eatontown office means telehealth is often the more practical ongoing option. The first visit benefits from being in person when scheduling allows, but isn't required to be. The Positive Reset network includes other clinics across New Jersey; if a partner clinic closer to Freehold opens or aligns differently, we can coordinate transitions if that's better for you.
Other Monmouth County cities we serve.
Same NJ-licensed clinicians, same insurance acceptance. If you’re closer to one of these, start there instead.
Questions from Freehold patients.
Do you accept NJ FamilyCare (Medicaid)?
Yes. We accept all five NJ FamilyCare managed care organizations: Horizon NJ Health, Aetna Better Health of New Jersey, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of New Jersey, Wellpoint, and FidelisCare. NJ FamilyCare members pay $0 out-of-pocket for therapy, psychiatry, and medication management at our clinic. You'll need your member ID card for your first visit; we verify your eligibility before you arrive. What does NJ FamilyCare cover for mental health?
NJ FamilyCare covers individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, partial hospitalization, and crisis services. Coverage of telehealth, inpatient care, and substance use treatment varies by MCO and plan tier. Specific session limits and prior-authorization requirements differ by MCO — see the [NJ FamilyCare benefits handbook](https://www.njfamilycare.org) or ask us at intake.Do you do online therapy or telehealth?
Yes. We offer telehealth (video) therapy and psychiatry across all of New Jersey. Telehealth works for most outpatient mental health concerns; some psychiatric evaluations and most TMS sessions require in-person visits. Insurance generally covers telehealth at the same rate as in-person care. If you live anywhere in New Jersey, we can see you online — see [telehealth in New Jersey](/services/telehealth-new-jersey/).How long until I can be seen?
Most new patients are seen within 7–14 days of their first call. Telehealth visits often have shorter wait times than in-person. If you're in crisis, call us — we triage same-week appointments for active safety concerns where appropriate, or refer you to crisis resources if our outpatient setting isn't the right level of care. What languages do you offer therapy in?
English is our primary language. We have clinicians who also offer therapy in Spanish, and limited availability in other languages — call us at (732) 724-1234 to ask about a specific language and we'll match you if possible. For other languages, we can sometimes coordinate with a certified medical interpreter.
